Godspell

McCall is so grateful and excited to be music directing with Chapin Theatre Company again! McCall has been involved with the music for CTCs summer shows the past 4 years as well as the CAPA summer camps and shows throughout the years. Thank you to this hardworking group of teens/tweens for pushing themselves and being teachable throughout very challenging musical rehearsals and instruction. I am so proud of the growth and effort of these young performers!

Meredith is honored to be the choreographer for Godspell with the inaugural CAPA youth company! She has been dancing since she was 4 years old and has a BA in Dance from Columbia College. She has been choreographing for Chapin Theatre Company since 2018. She has also worked as the assistant director and choreographer for ICRC children’s theater and is an instructor at Chapin Academy of Performing Arts. Preparing this show has been full of laughter and tears and Meredith is beyond proud of these thirteen students. They have put in so much work and have grown as actors in these past few months. She is also thankful for the rest of the “dream” production team and always loves working with them.

Cash is fourteen years old and began participating in theatre at the age of ten. Since then, he has appeared in countless junior productions as well as numerous Main Stage shows throughout the Columbia theatre community. Favorite roles include the Artful Dodger in Oliver! at Village Square Theatre and, most recently, B Flat in Second Samuel at Soda City Theatre. When Cash isn’t performing onstage, he can usually be found singing, drawing, or creating in some capacity. He dreams of acting professionally one day and is grateful for the many opportunities Chapin Theatre has given him to grow as a performer over the past three years.

Addy is a sixth grader at CIS. This will be her fourth show with Chapin Theatre and her fifth show overall. Her favorite role she has played so far was Middle Anna in Frozen. Her dream role would be Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Addy loves a good book, singing with her school choir, and spending time with God. She would like to thank her family and friends for cheering her on, the amazing directors, and everyone who has put this show together.

Tiffany is too busy to be tired - well maybe a little tired. She is super excited to be a part of this phenomenal creative team and wonderfully talented youth troupe bringing Godspell to the Chapin Theatre stage. Tiffany wears many, many hats here at CTC, being the Artistic Director, the Director of CAPA (Chapin Academy of Performing Arts) and during the school year she gets to watch her first grandchild, Elodie. A huge thanks to everyone involved in this production. Enjoy!

Ellie has performed in several productions at Chapin Theatre, including The Lion King Jr. (Scar) and Frozen Jr. (Anna). This is her first year with a performing arts company, and she has enjoyed being a foundational member of the Chapin Academy Performing Arts Company. Outside of the stage, Ellie enjoys all creatures great and small. She would like to thank the directors for the opportunity to be cast in Godspell and for the continued support of her friends and family.

Paxton is a freshman at Spring Hill High and is so grateful for the chance to perform as John the Baptist/Judas in Godspell. You may have recently seen him as Ben in Descendants at Spring Hill, Parker in Freaky Friday the Musical, or as Mrs. Trunchbull in Matilda Jr. In his free time he likes to hang with friends, listen to music, and watch movies.

Audrey is currently a junior at Chapin Academy, and is overjoyed to take part in the first ever CAPA Company. Various previous credits include: Into the Woods (Florinda), Freaky Friday (Hannah), Cinderella (Ensemble), Les Misérables (Combferre/swing), Once Upon a Mattress (Lady Emily), Home for the Holidays (Invited Performer), Descendants (Smitten Kid/swing), White Christmas (Ensemble), Closed for the Holidays (Bailey), The Best Christmas Pageant (Florinda). Film credits: Bizkids (Aliyah), The One in Charge (featured), Highwater Hero (Baby Betty). Shoutout to her friends and family who support her and to her sweet nephew who inspires her every day. @audrey.performs.

Mary Jo is thrilled to be back in the saddle with the CTC production dream team. With 20+ years of professional background in the industry, Mary Jo enjoys teaching, guiding, and equipping the next generation of performers to grace the stage with their gifts and talents. Taking part in the inaugural youth CAPA Company has been an incredible journey. Watching these students learn and grow along the way has been a true blessing, for they have worked hard and pushed themselves in new and different waysgrowing not only as performers but as young men and women, too. She is incredibly proud of them! Although she loves theatre, Mary Jo’s greatest accomplishments include being wife to Rocky, mother to Tyler, Ansley and Audrey, and Grandma to Cyrus.

Isabelle is thrilled to be returning to the stage at Chapin Theatre. You might remember her as Elsa in Frozen Jr. and Mrs. Gloop in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Jr. Isabelle is a freshman at Spring Hill High and is a part of the Stallion Theatre Group. When not performing, Isabelle enjoys singing, listening to music, and hanging out with family and friends. She thanks her family, directors, and cast mates for their endless support and encouragement. This experience has helped and inspired Isabelle to keep learning and growing on stage. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Ryleigh is excited to be part of this production. She is a sophomore at Spring Hill High and has been performing since the third grade, with some of her favorite shows being Annie Jr., Into the Woods, and Descendants the Musical. Outside of theatre, Ryleigh enjoys dancing, hanging out with her friends and being a part of Young Life. She would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support throughout this journey, and to Chapin Theatre for the direction and opportunity to grow as a performer.

Betsy is in fifth grade at her beloved Irmo Elementary. She has been performing at Chapin Theatre for the past two years. Betsy also takes voice lessons and enjoys writing her own songs. She enjoys playing with her friends, crocheting, crafting, and dancing. Betsy loves time spent with her grandparents, her immediate family, and her puppy, Violet.

Alexis is a seventh grader at Irmo Middle. Her previous roles include Elsa (Frozen Kids), Rafiki (The Lion King Jr.), Ensemble in Broadway Review, Wendy (Peter Pan Jr.), and July (Annie, Jr.) Alexis loves performing and is thrilled to be a part of CAPA Company’s first show. Other than performing, she enjoys shopping and hanging out with friends and family. Alexis’ dream is Sandy in Grease.

Hope is a fourteen year old at Spring Hill High and has been doing theatre since she was four years old. Her favorite productions have been Moana Jr. (Moana), The Lion King Kids (Nala), Matilda Jr. (Hortensia), Seussical Jr. (Gertrude), and Junie B. Jones (Lucille). In her free time, she likes to read and write. Her dream role is Persephone in Hadestown. Hope would like to thank her friends and family for their support, her directors for the amazing opportunity, and Starbucks refreshers alongside Percy Jackson books to get her through tech week.

Adele is thrilled to be part of the inaugural year of CAPA Co. and to be performing with Chapin Theatre Company for the third time. Previous credits with CAPA include Frozen Kids and Madagascar Jr. Other credits include Alice in Wonderland Jr. and Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang Jr. A passionate singer and pianist, Adele loves bringing music and joy to the stage. Offstage, she stays active playing basketball and rollerblading, all the while keeping her three brothers on their toes. Adele loves Jesus and is incredibly grateful to Mary Jo Johnson for believing in her and inspiring her theatrical journey. She thanks her family, friends, and the entire CAPA community for their support!

Camryn who performs, Light of the World, is a thirteen year old multi-talented performer, artist, athlete, and electric guitarist. Some of her latest credits are Jojo in Seussical Jr., John in Peter Pan Jr., and herself in Broadway Revue. Passionate about nature and community, she believes that performance brings people together and is glad to have shared this experience with her wonderful director, choreographer, vocal teacher, and especially her fellow cast members. Camryn looks forward to gaining experience and expanding her skill set in the future.

Jay is twelve years old and thrilled to be part of the first CAPA Youth Company. He has appeared in other shows around the community including, Annie Jr. (Town Theatre), Into the Woods Jr. (ICRC), and Frozen Kids (CTC). Jay’s dream role has almost always been Javert from Les Misérables. When not on the stage, he enjoys taekwondo, spending time with friends, seeing local theatre productions, and playing with his two dogs. Jay is thankful to his directors and production members for this opportunity
