Summer Camp! Magic Treehouse: Pirates Before Noon

June 24 - 30, 2019
Ages 8 to 14

Based on the best-selling book series, Jack and Annie journey in their magical tree house to the Caribbean and the time of Pirates. Come set sail with us this summer in this week long camp where we will sing, dance and act and put together a show. There will be 2 performances on the last day of camp.

Schedule:
June 24 - 30
Monday - Friday, 9am - 12:30pm
Saturday, 9am - 3:30pm (lunch provided)
Sunday, 2pm - 6pm (2 shows: 3pm and 5pm)

Location: American Legion Post 193 102 Lexington Ave, Chapin, SC

Fee: $175 (includes Saturday lunch and t-shirt)

SHREK-Shop Theatre Workshop

May 16 - 19, 2019
Ages 8 to adult
REGISTRATION CLOSED

Participants will learn from professionals from around the midlands.
They will participate in classes on Improv, Auditioning, Movement for Theatre, Vocal work, and Acting. They will also learn a song and dance routine to a song from "Shrek, the Musical". There will be a performance on the last day of the Workshop for friends and family. Participants will be split into 2 groups based on theatre experience, so this will be great for beginners through advanced thespians.

Fri, May 17   6:30pm - 8pm
Sat, May 18   9am - 3:30pm (Bring your lunch)
Sun, May 19   2pm - 5pm (Performance at 4pm)

Fee: $125 (Due at time of registration)

Participation in the workshop is not required to audition for our summer production of Shrek The Musical, nor does is guarantee you a part in the show.

GUEST ARTISTS

Jamie Harrington
Jamie has been working in the theatre for almost 20 years. She loves teaching the art of theatre and is the drama teacher at Dutch Fork High School. She has won numerous awards for her directing and has enjoyed working as a director, actor, and crew member for numerous theatres around the midlands. Some of her favorite shows to direct include Newsies and The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Town Theatre, Into the Woods and Hotbed Hotel for Chapin Theatre Company, and Little Shop of Horrors at Dutch Fork High School. She sends her love to her husband Danny and her two children, James and Molly.
Vicky Saye Henderson
Vicky Saye Henderson is a career performance and teaching artist whose projects include live stage, on-camera, and voice-over work, improv, and cabaret concerts. A company member emeritus at Trustus Theatre, she has a B.A. in Theatre & Speech, and received her improv and sketch comedy training in Orlando, FL (Ricci Mann, KVG Studios). She created and instructed two improv and sketch comedy programs in the Midlands--ReWired at Workshop Theatre of SC (2006-2012), and the Trustus Theatre Apprentice Company's improv and sketch comedy mastertrack (2012-2015). She helps businesses and organizations strengthen and grow by offering professional development and staff enrichment opportunities via story arts and improv. Vicky received the SC Arts Commission's 2015 Individual Artist Fellowship in Acting, and was named Jasper Magazine's 2013 Theatre Artist of the Year.
Katie Hilliger
Katie Hilliger is thrilled to bring her love of Musical Theatre Choreography to Chapin Theatre Company! A native of Fort Mill, South Carolina Katie grew up dancing but developed a deep passion for theatre during her time in high school. While at USC pursuing a Dance Education degree she remained active in community theatre and has since choreographed/performed in over 30 productions in the Columbia area. Katie delighted in serving as Meadow Glen Middle School's Dance Specialist from 2012-2018 and has since stepped out into the world of freelance choreography and photography. She believes that hard work and fun go hand in hand, is known to have very high expectations for her actors, and finds deep joy in creating an ensemble environment that lift all talents and ability levels equally. When not in the theatre Katie enjoys time with her family and dog, working out at Burn Boot Camp, being in nature, creative writing, and planning her next great travel adventure!
Christopher McCroskey
Christopher A. McCroskey (Mr. Mac to all his students) is a native of El Dorado AR. His musical interest began at a very early age. His mother was a private piano teacher and he grew up from the crib hearing piano music in his home. Christopher began formal piano studies with his mother at the age of 4 and learned to read music before he learned to read. Christopher holds a degree in Piano Performance from the University of Georgia and a Masters degree in Music Theory from Florida State University. He has performed as a pianist in both the United States and Europe. His interest in musical theater began at the age of 12 when he played for a production of a little known Children’s show I Sincerely Doubt This Old House is Very Haunted at the South Arkansas Arts Center in his hometown. Since then he has been performing and musically directing shows in multiple states. Aside from musically directing Christopher has composed original background scores for performances of A Streetcar Named Desire and Wait Until Dark. In Columbia he has musically directed at Town, Workshop, Trustus and Chapin Theaters. Some of his favorite shows include Westside Story, 42nd Street, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Beauty & the Beast, Suessical, The Wizard of Oz, Grease, Miss Saigon, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Chicago and Into The Woods. Christopher is currently in rehearsals for a production of Little Shop of Horrors at Dutchfork High School, the Organist/Choir Director at Trinity United Methodist Church in West Columbia & teaches private piano.
