Synopsis: When you are having trouble finding your niece a husband - bop one over the head.
Sara Hastings is an unmarried lawyer in her mid 30s, much too busy to get involved in
romance. Her Aunt Martha has decided to take matters into her own hands and find her
a husband. Unfortunately, Aunt Martha's method of doing it amounts to having the
prospective groom bopped over the head and brought to Sara's apartment. Aunt
Martha's choice is Brandon Cates, a young man who handles Aunt Martha's finances.
Although Brandon is engaged to be married, this does not deter Aunt Martha.
After being bopped on the head a few times, having a temporary loss of memory and
experiencing several instances of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and a confrontation with
the very angry fiancé, Brandon slowly comes to realize that Sara is really the girl for
him.
MonaLisa Botts — Director
MonaLisa is honored to have been chosen as one of the directors celebrating Chapin Theatre Company's Ruby Anniversary! She is overjoyed to have worked with such a talented cast and crew for this first production of the season marking four decades of cultural prominence in the community. She is blessed to have acted and directed in many venues throughout the Columbia area. She would like to thank this gifted cast for sharing their talents with this production and for overcoming so many obstacles to bring this show to life! She would like to thank her sweet, kind and loving husband Bill for always being her rock and monolith of moral support! T.G.B.T.G! |
Lou Clyde — Aunt Martha / Producer
Lou Clyde is having a blast playing the role of Aunt Martha. She had to look no further than her own closet for the costumes. Okay, she also looked in the closet of Tiffany Dinsmore's mother. Lou's been busy over the past few weeks revising her third full-length comedy Boomerang and is hoping to see it staged in the Midlands sometime soon. Lou enjoys travelling, writing, and making profanity pillows. Her favorite role has been Aunt Ruth in Marvin's Room and she hopes someday to play the role of Aunt Bee in Andy Griffith, the Musical. |
Hayley Hunt — Sara Hastings
Hayley comes from a musical and theatrical family. She began dancing at three and was in her first theatrical production of Tom Sawyer at five. She enjoys playing varied types of roles, but one of her favorites was stepping in as guest adult with a week to go to play the role of Falstaff in the Newberry Community Players Young Players production of Merry Wives of Windsor. Hayley is the business manager for Compass Family Medicine during the daylight hours, cat rescuer and kilt maker extraordinaire. She's thrilled to be a part of the delightful cast and production. |
Dennis Kacsur — Noogie
You may recognize Dennis from such hit films as The Matrix, Gladiator, and The Bourne Identity. If you do, you are sadly mistaken or delusional for Dennis has never appeared in a film. However, he is glad to be on stage again with the Chapin Theatre Company group and this great cast. His previous CTC work included Rabbit Hole, The Homecoming, Mama Won't Fly, and Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde. He would like to thank MonaLisa for giving him this opportunity to display his alter-ego. And he would also like to thank his beautiful wife Kim for giving him the opportunity to "play" while she manages a menagerie of animals at home. |
Travis Page — The Chiropractor / Stage Manager
This is Travis' eighth time on stage as a performer, but it’s also his debut as a stage manager. He’s grateful to have another opportunity to work with the Chapin Theatre Company under the direction of MonaLisa Botts. He also thanks Tracy Rice and Lindsay Brown for introducing him to the community just a few short years ago. |
Melissa Sklodoski — Heather Boyd
Melissa is returning to the Chapin Theater Company Stage. She was last seen as Sis in the comedy Leaving Iowa. Prior to moving to the Columbia four years ago, Melissa was very active with The Orangeburg Part Time Players. Some of her favorite roles include Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun, Billy Dwyer in Unnecessary Farce, Ado Annie in Oklahoma, and Fred in Once Upon a Mattress. When not on the stage, Melissa is an Administrative Assistant for Rainbow International Restoration. Melissa currently resides in Chapin with her husband Jason, Stepdaughter Karsyn, and two teenage nephews Marc and Alex. "Thank you to MonaLisa and cast for thinking of me and welcoming me late into the Getting Sara Married Family." |
Merritt Vann — Brandon Cates
Merritt is a SAG-Eligible Actor and is happy to be returning to the Chapin Theatre Company. His most current film credits include Harvest Season, Bound, Test, Blue Crossing, Bottled Up, Mister Academy, and Cracks.
