Voters from anywhere on the political spectrum are going to love The Outsider. Slade Smith's hilarious comedy opens Friday, February 28, at the Firehouse Theatre at American Legion Post 193 102 Lexington Ave, Chapin, SC 29036 in downtown Chapin.
You will not want to miss this story of Lt. Governor Ned Newley, who finds himself promoted to the very uncomfortable role of governor after his predecessor is involved in a sex scandal. He's terrified of public speaking and does not even want to be governor.
Director Bonnie Hill Lyon has assembled an impressive cast of actors from across the Midlands including Dennis Kacsur as Ned Newley. Audiences may remember Dennis as thug Noogie Malloy in last season's Getting Sara Married. David Reed plays political consultant Arthur Vance who tries to make a suitable politician out of Ned. Sandy Steffen, Emily Meadows, Chris Graves, Karen Kerschell, and Merrit Van round out this all-star cast.
Advance tickets are just $15. All tickets at the door will be $18. Performance dates are Feb.28-29 & March 5-7 at 8 PM. There will be two Sunday matinees on March 1 & 8 at 3 PM.
